RI First Lady to Launch Fitness Competition

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Rhode Island’s first lady is kicking off a physical fitness competition.

Stephanie Chafee  will launch the “Physical Activity Challenge” at the Statehouse on Monday.

Participants plan to log their daily exercise minutes and daily steps from April 16 to May 20. Prizes will be given to winning participants after the program ends.

The goal of the program is help participants find easy ways to increase their daily exercise routine.

Chafee is a nurse and wife of Gov. Lincoln Chafee, an independent.
