David Ortiz, spokesman for Mayor Angel Taveras, said websites of customers of InMotionHosting, the company that hosts the city’s site, were defaced.

He said the hacker gained access to a server hosting the site at about 5:30 a.m. Sunday. captured an image of the site that showed a black screen with a message that read: “Server HackeD by TIGER-M(at)TE (hash)Bangladeshi HackeR.”

InMotionHosting says a “defacement attack” early Sunday morning affected an unspecified number of customers.
