Mayor Thomas M. Menino and the Department of Neighborhood Development will join local business owners and residents on Saturday to celebrate the grand openings of four new businesses on Washington Street in Brighton – Hoshi-Ya Japanese Restaurant, Naked Pizza, Treats on Washington Street, and Abbotts Frozen Custard. These businesses opened with $30,000 of investment from Brighton Main Streets and the City’s Office of Business Development that leveraged over $700,000 in private investment. The opening of these establishments marks another milestone for the thriving Brighton business district having created more than 45 new jobs.

Brighton Main Streets is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to the revitalization of Brighton’s neighborhood commercial district. Since its designation as a Boston Main Streets District in 1998, Brighton Main Street has guided development along Washington Street by mobilizing hundreds of volunteers and working through partnerships with colleges, neighborhood groups, real estate developers, government, and businesses entities.
