Mass. Firm Moves to RI with State Loan Help

WEST WARWICK, R.I. (AP) — Gov. Lincoln Chafee and state economic development officials are set to celebrate the relocation to Rhode Island of a Massachusetts company that got a loan from the state’s small business loan fund.

Officials with the state Economic Development Corporation say Local Hooker Rods, which sells fishing rods and other fishing gear, has moved to West Warwick, Rhode Island. It had been located on Cape Cod.

Chafee is scheduled to join EDC Executive Director Keith Stokes and West Warwick Town Manager James Thomas to discuss the development with reporters on Wednesday morning. The officials are expected to speak at the company’s new location on Greenhill Street.
