Hub On Wheels Slated for Sept. 25; Sign Up Here

Boston is certainly becoming more of a biking city especially since the launch of the bike sharing program. On Sunday, September 25 you can either rent a bike or ride your own through the city streets of Boston during the 7th annual Hub On Wheels.

This event showcases Boston’s neighborhoods and parks, and it helps raise money for important causes. The ride was modeled after similar events in New York and Chicago, which attract 30,000 and 18,000 riders annually.

The route takes you through Downtown, the Back Bay, Jamaica Plain, Roslindale, Hyde Park, Mattapan, Dorchester, and South Boston. It really is a unique way to see the city.

Hub On Wheels is part of a larger initiative of Mayor Menino’s Boston Bikes Program. It is part of Mayor Menino’s vision to make Boston a world-class bicycling city by creating safe and inviting conditions for all residents and visitors.

Last year Boston Bikes created 20 miles of new bike lanes, installed $700 of bike parking spaces, provided youth education programming for over 2,500 young adults and hosted the TD Bank Mayor’s Cup professional bike race in Boston.
