On Monday, January 9, 2012, at Worcester State University, U.S. Senator Scott Brown will host a Bay State jobs fair to connect job seekers with more than 60 Massachusetts employers who have committed to attend the networking and recruitment event.

“I am very pleased to announce that my second Bay State Jobs Fair will be held in Worcester,” said Senator Brown. “Since being elected to the U.S. Senate, I have traveled all across Massachusetts to speak with job seekers, businesses, and employers of all sizes and types. I have seen that our Commonwealth has tremendous potential for job creation and that by working together we can take steps to drive down our state’s seven percent unemployment rate and put people back to work.”

In October, Senator Brown held his first Bay State Jobs Fair at Roxbury Community College. The event connected more than 2,000 job seekers with 60 Massachusetts employers. The high turnout in Roxbury spurred Senator Brown to plan another jobs fair to bring together motivated and talented candidates with employers in the Worcester region.

As with the October jobs fair, Senator Brown has again focused on bringing together a wide range of Massachusetts employers in hopes of matching them with job seekers. Therefore, large companies, small companies, hospital groups, and small, localized trade associations will all be represented at the fair in Worcester. No matter the size of the employer or the level of the future employee seeking work, the goal is simple: to help job seekers improve their chances of finding a job in a tough economy.

“In Washington, we have an opportunity to come together and work in a bipartisan way on legislation that will help put America back to work,” said Senator Brown. “The people of Massachusetts cannot wait for Washington, and that was made clear by the strong interest and attendance this past October at the Roxbury jobs fair. I look forward to helping connect job seekers and employers in Worcester on January 9.”
